“ Visited Bradford from Nottingham and stopped here for a bite to eat. Delicious freshly cooked chappal kebab, soft fresh nan, friendly service. Amazing value for money. Clean, wholesome food ”

“ I had heard about the chapli kebabs and thought we would give it a try. Went over to Girlington with hubby and went to the original Abaseen takeaway/café. First impressions, decent size eating area with front counter service. We struggled a bit with parking nearby as it is in a bit of a busy industrial area. However, once inside we were greeted by a friendly, happy and polite man who was busy taking telephone orders and serving walk-in customers. Clearly marked price list displayed with a very reasonably priced menu. We ordered the kebab offer of 3 chapli kebabs with a homemade family size naan bread, onions and yogurt sauce X 2 to eat in! He did question us as whether we did want 2 lots as they were massive, but I explained that anything we didn't eat would be coming home with us! He was right though, after a fairly short period of time, our food was freshly cooked and ready. Massive they were, piping hot and served with a smile. There were bottles of sauces on the counter and hubby brought the chilli sauce over to the table. Must say I did give it a damn good go but only managed to munch my way through 1 kebab, about half the naan bread, and the side salad (a squeeze of a lemon wedge slice with mainly raw onion with a tiny bit of shredded lettuce.) Hubby fared better and managed to eat 2 kebabs and half his naan bread. The man behind the counter thought hubby had eaten it all at first as he approached the counter to settle our bill, but didn't seem surprised when we asked for a carrier bag to put the leftovers in so we could take them home. We were then offered green tea "On the house" which we were told, aids digestion. We readily accepted this kind gesture. Payment method is cash or bank transfer with the details clearly displayed. Several people came in and ordered whilst we were there, a couple of solitary men sat and ate inside too, they both had same as us, chapli kebab and naan bread. The food was good, I think the kebabs had a similar texture to shami kebabs that I have eaten in the past, not as meaty and juicy as sheekh kebabs, but nonetheless tasty and good value for money. We would come here again and I would love to try something else from the menu, perhaps a karahi or the fish. ”
